Job Description:

Configuring, supporting, and maintaining network routers, switches, network appliances, firewalls, and other communication devices. Designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards and policies. Monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; performing upgrades; network optimization. Secure network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access. Implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. Provide network and host based security, incident response, firewall and VPN management and administration. Providing support for advanced level and on-call support for large variety of networks, systems, and infrastructures. Adhere to network configuration and change management policies Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices. Technical Projects management Able to work independently or as a team member. Proficient in documenting and explaining network topologies. Perform other tasks as requested by the Director of IT.

Experience and Skills:

Routers: Ability to troubleshoot/implement routing for multi-site multi-VLAN environments.

Switches: Ability to design/implement networks segments that interact with routers, firewalls, filtering devices, and virtual infrastructure. Troubleshoot CPU, bandwidth, and packet errors.

Wireless: Ability to maintain managed wireless networks which use trunking/isolation to address security concerns. Troubleshoot signal, interference, and wireless connectivity issues.

Firewall: Maintain firewall rules to ensure maximum level of security. Implement dynamic and static NAT configurations. Manage multiple points of ingress/egress based on policy.

Server infrastructure

Server Hardware: Knowledge of hardware architecture of server class equipment. Ability to troubleshoot CPU, memory, PSU, baseboard, and expansion components.

SAN Hardware: Ability to route fiber channel or iSCSI storage connectivity. Provision LUNs and manage DR replication. Troubleshoot IOPs, cache, and usage. Ability to resolve hardware failure and RAID rebuilds.

Microsoft Windows Server Network Operating Systems: Manage Windows Server 2008 and onwards NOS: Ability to implement Active Directory domain creation for multiple DC environments. Ability to recover domain environments after corruption or hardware failure. Experience in dealing with critical AD situations. Knowledge on best practices on design and maintenance of domains.

VMware: Ability to implement and manage multiple host High Availability with shared storage virtual environments. Ability to maintain separate site DR operations utilizing virtual infrastructure.

SQL Server: Ability to implement new instances of SQL and share out resources. Understanding of instances, databases, and tables. Manage transactional log storage and backup. Ability to run basic queries and edit existing scripts.

Desktop/Terminal Servers: Ability to troubleshoot issues with registry, file system, and system environments. Manage group policy for security compliance, software distribution, and system automation. Knowledge of user environments across Windows 7/8 and Server 2008/2012 environments. Experience in configuring and using Microsoft PowerShell scripting.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related IT field.
